I distinctly remember when I was a young kid and my aunt from the United states used to get me LEGO bricks play set. This was 30 years back; I dont know whether Lego bricks were available in India at that time and so I used to look forward to her visits and Lego gifts.

When I got the opportunity to write a review for Lego bricks I was very keen to do it as I have a 8 year old daughter and she has creative sensibilities. I wanted her to experience the pleasure of creating various things using her imagination.  I was very happy to see that she was extremely excited to receive her gift and opened the box immediately. She was thrilled to receive the LEGO “Friends” set. She had a fun time building the mini delivery truck and a gift shop.

I was particularly impressed to see that Lego has developed the product keeping in mind the aesthetic value of the play set too. My daughter enjoyed making the flower pots and the gift boxes. Every minute detail of the things one finds at the gift shop or of a truck are incorporated in the product very well. Also as the box has an instruction manual and it proved to be a good reference point whenever my daughter could not put few pieces together.

Lego has been making quality toys since 1958 and over the years they have developed the toys keeping in mind the child’s interests, age groups and most importantly changing trends among the new generation every time. Lego makes bricks for kids as young as age 1 up to the age of 16 years. So there is something for every kid appropriate for the age which aids brain development through play.

Lego toys are great for kids as it gives wings to a kid’s imagination. It helps immensely in constructing creativity and provides new learning experiences.

Children require tools to keep their imagination alive and Lego is a great tool in enhance it.

In younger kids it helps to develop fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination. It also aids cognitive, social and emotional development in a child.

The most important thing that I observed in my daughter was that this Lego experience gave her confidence to take out the Lego bricks that my mother had gifted her few years back which she had never played with before. Also it was great bonding time for me and my daughter while building the bricks together.

Lego bricks are the best gift you can give to a child apart from books. My daughter was very happy when she finished building it and was very keen that I take her pictures with it.
